ABM was created over 30 years ago when Cape Breton businessman, Joseph P. Shannon, purchased a small IT company in Dartmouth, NS. What started as a field services company reselling 3rd party Point of Sale (POS) systems, cash registers, field service repair and help desk support in the early 70’s, has grown to a multimillion dollar service provider delivering innovative solutions across multiple sectors including Retail, Healthcare, Logistics and Transportation, Insurance, Legal, Natural Resources, Public Sector, Communications, Financial Services and Energy. Today we proudly have points of presence and clients across North America providing solutions and offering services from Business & IT Consulting, Cloud Services, Field Operations, Lifecycle Management, Managed Services and Service Desk support.


Key Duties / Reponsibilities

  • Developing Cloud solutions, driving the adoption process across an organization, and establishing Cloud standards across multiple disciplines using knowledge of IT governance
  • Overseeing the strategic priorities of internal and external relating to new Cloud opportunities based on business direction/initiatives
  • Interacting with key stakeholders to anticipate, plan and manage Cloud technology platform selection and adoption
  • Working with leadership to define and develop roadmaps for IT Cloud strategies and technology
  • Lead IT Governance and processes to facilitate Cloud technology adoption
  • Reviewing Cloud licensing agreements and provide insight to and ongoing management of such agreements
  • Project management expertise, managing complex projects and implementing projects to meet established time frames
  • Maintain extensive understanding and knowledge of current and emerging trends and standards
  • Making strategic judgments and evaluating the impact of information technology decisions
  • Working with business leaders to gather business vision, write functional, and technical strategies that meet the business drivers
  • Collaborating with executive business stakeholders to advance initiatives
  • Other duties as required

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
  • Proven experience in DevOps with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Highly developed and effective teamwork skills
