Profiles in Technology Excellence

Ada Lovelace – The Pioneer of Programming:

Widely regarded as the world's first computer programmer, Ada Lovelace's legacy continues to inspire women in tech to fearlessly pursue their passion for coding and innovation. Ada had a passion for mathematics and was studying along side Charles Babbage, who had invented a calculating machine. Upon using the machine, Ada knew it’s capabilities could be much greater and carry out complex formulas; she successfully set out to write a program for the machine that could calculate Bernoulli numbers.

Grace Hopper – A Trailblazer in Software Development:

Known for her groundbreaking work in developing one of the first compilers, Grace Hopper's contributions laid the foundation for modern programming languages. Grace devised the groundwork still used today for many programming languages, and her work on writing the first computer manual “A Manual of Operation for the Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator” is a testament to her ingenuity. Her legacy reminds us that women have been at the forefront of tech innovation for decades.
